工程女性刻版印象之內容分析研究

A Study of Content Analysis on Engineering Stereotype for Women in Engineering

摘要


本研究旨在分析社會氛圍中的工程刻版印象,以網路圖像及影音資料庫為鎖定研究媒體,並利用國小學童所繪製的圖像為工程認知來源。本研究使用內容分析法中的媒體分析技術探究特定媒體,共分三個階段執行媒體分析研究,第一階段分析網路圖像資料庫(Google及Yahoo)中的內容資訊,第二階段分析網路影音資料庫(Youtube)中的特定影音片段及內容資訊,第三階段分析國小學童對於工程師的認知概念。研究獲得三大發現:(1)男性工程師圖像佔據網路圖像資料庫、(2)女性刻版印象仍存於網路影音資料庫、及(3)工程男性印象烙印於國小學童腦海中。

The study aimed to analyze the engineering stereotype under the atmosphere of current society. The image and video database in the Internet were targeted research media. Drawings from elementary school students were primary sources of engineering conceptions. The study employed one media analysis technique to examine specific media by following three research stages. First, specific images in Google and Yahoo databases were explored. Second, specific video clips in Youtube were analyzed. Third, students' conceptions of engineer in the drawings were investigated. The findings showed that images of male engineers dominated in the image database. Female stereotype still existed in the video database. Male engineers were primary engineering conceptions in elementary school students' minds.
