Testing the Haptic Exoskeleton Actuators in a Virtual Environment

The paper presents a different approach towards an existing haptic exoskeleton, by means of using smart, lightweight servomotors both for master joints position retrieval and for active feedback. Also a custom developed software interface is described, used for connecting the exoskeleton hardware to a virtual environment containing a scene with a tele-operated robot. The functional testing of the system is addressed and the results of these tests are presented.
