從麻竹配製holocellulose後,分別以4% NaOH及10% NaOH抽取而得兩種抽出液。前兩種抽出液加酸及酒精獲得二種hemicellulose。繼以濾紙層次分析法分析此二種hemicellulose中之醣類,獲知麻竹hemicellulose係由xylose, arabinose, glucose及uronic acid等諸醣類構成。其中glucose係由澱粉而來。hemicellulose中xylose與arabinose之含量比約為18:1,澱粉含量則hemicelluloseI為20.1%,hemicelluloseII為13.0%。
The holocellulose was prepared from Formosan Bamboo "Machu"(Sinooalamus latiflorus McClure) according to the modified method of van.Bekum and Ritter. The holocellulose was then extracted with 4% NaOH and 10% NaOH successively. Two portions of hemicellulose (hemicellulose I and II) were obtained by adding acetic acid and ethanol to the ext racts. The analytical data of the various samples were shown in Tables 1 and 3. The paper chromatogram of the hydrolyzate of the hemicellulose indicated the presence of glucose, xylose, arabinose, and uronic acid; The ratio of xylose to arabinose was about 18: 1. The starch content of hemicellulose I and II was 20.1% and 13%, respectively (see Tables 2 and 3).
