摘要


甲苯氧化製造苯酚的反應中的有關產物,可利用氣體層析技術,作簡捷而迅速的分析。此一反應的程序,通常分為兩個步驟,第一是由甲苯氧化生成苯甲酸,第二則由苯甲酸再繼續反應生成苯酚;在這兩個步驟中所得到的主要產物為苯甲酸、苯甲醛、苯甲醇、苯甲基代苯甲酸酯和苯酚等。這些成份利用氣體層析法通過含有silicone grease和PEG 4000混合固定相的特製層析柱,於適當的操作情況下,可得以分析。各成份的定量可依內用標準劑法行之,所採用的內用標準劑為二甲基酜酸酯。經內用標準劑校正後的尖峯面積及尖峯高度,除苯甲醇興苯甲酸外,均與各成份的含量成直線關係;而苯甲醇及苯甲酸的含量,則僅與校正後的尖峯面積成直線關係。

A rapid and convenient gas-chromatographic method has been devised for the analysis of reaction products resulted from the catalytic oxidation of toluene. The oxidation process consists of two steps, t he first is the oxidation of toluene to benzoic acid, and the second is the reaction of benzoic acid to phenol. The main products in these two steps are benzoic acid, benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, and phenol. The reaction products are differentiated by introducing in to a specially designed column which contains the mixed stationary phases of silicone grease and PEG (polyethylene glycol) 4000 under specified conditions. The components can be estimated quantitatively by the internal standard (Marker) method, in which dimethyl phthalate is employed as the marker. Both peak area and peak height, corrected with the internal standard, can be followed up as a linear function of the component quantities, with the exception of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid which vary linearly only to peak areae.
