氫化三聯苯混合物聚合反應的膠層透析法之研究

An Investigation of Polymerization of Hydrogenated Terphenyl Mixtures by Gel Permeation Chromatography

摘要


氫化三聯苯混合物受放射線以及熱能作用所產生聚合反應或分解反應,以膠層透析法測得其平均分子量及分子量分佈。熱分解反應之溫度及氧含量效應,由膠層透析測得在液相中之低分子化合物,其分解速度由於溫度之上昇而增加,氧含量極少(在真空度10^(-4) mm Hg狀態,既無氧存在下)時,僅有分解現象,但在氧存在下,不僅分解速度加速而且有二分子物之聚合反應。另一方面,鈷六十伽瑪線與中子線的照射效果也有所不間,伽瑪線照射在液相中產生聚合反應而未能測得分解產生之低分子物,其聚合速度隨照射線量之增加而增加,中子線之照射不僅可以促進聚合反應,其反應速度比伽瑪線照射者為快,同時又可產生部分之低分子物,此為中子線照射之特徵。

Gel permeation studies were carried out on four types of hydrogenated terphenyl mixtures reacted using irradiation and heating. Effects of temperature, oxygen contents on thermal decomposition and radiation effects of Co-60 γ-rays and neutrons irradiation on the polymerization were investigated. It was observed that the decomposition rate increases with increasing temperature over a range from 20°C to 400°C. The effect of oxygen contents is quite different between in degas and in presence of oxygen system. Firstly, no dimer (or polymer) of hydrogenated terphenyl is obtained in the degas system. On the other hand, the reaction not only the decomposition rate is increased rapidly but also the dimers of hydrogenated terphenyl is obtained in presence of oxygen. It was observed that the polymerization rate increase with the irradiated dose increasing in the case of γ-rays irradiation from Co-60 source. An interesting phenomenon occurred in neutron irradiation, both decomposition and polymerization reaction were took place under our irradiation period, but the decomposition occured slightly. It was concluded from the chromatograms obtained that the decomposition of the mixture was occurred by heating, but a polymerization did not take place in high temperature besides it contains. oxygen. On the contrary, a polymerization was promoted by radiation but not for decomposition.
