生物化學及生化工程在廢水處理上的應用

摘要


人類活動與工業生產所排放出來的廢水,以有機性污染物為大宗,就現有實用的處理技術而言,仍以生物處理方式最為經濟有效。以往生物處理法之發展主要是靠環境工程人員之經驗累積而來,時至今日若單靠環境工程人員的努力,在生物處理方面將很難有突破性的發展。本文旨在介紹生物化學及生化工程人員可藉其專業知識就(1)建立毒性測試方法及其應用(2)有害物質之生物分解技術(3)傳統生物處理法之改良等幾個領域,協助環境工程人員結合其工程實務經驗,開發生物處理的新技術。

Organic pollutants are the major components of industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater. Among current wastewater treatment techniques, biological treatment technology is the most economical and efficient. During the last few decades, the progess of biological treatment technology majorly relied on the accumulated experiences of environmental engineers. But nowaday, if this technology only depends on the effort of environmental engineers, it will not have any breakthrough. The purpose of the paper is to introduce to the biochemists and biochemical engineers how to make use of their professional knowledge to step-in the following fields such as: (1) Establishment and application of the toxicity measurement methods, (2) Biodegradation technology of hazardous substances, and (3) Improvement of conventional wastewater treatment processes. The biochemists and biochemical engineers can assist the enviromental engineers coupling science and engineering practices to develop new technology of biological treatment processes.
