質譜在植物防禦素研究上之應用

Application of Mass Spectrometry in Studies of Phytoalexins

摘要


植物防禦素(phytoalexins)為植物抵抗外在環境之生物或非生物侵害所產生之二次代謝物,由於這類物質常具有清除自由基、抗氧化及抗腫瘤等功能,因此植物防禦素除可應用於生物防治外,尚可做為營療物質(nutraceuticals),甚至應用於化妝品之上。但由於大部份植物所產生的植物防禦素成分複雜且含量極少,因此其相關之研究進展較慢。近年來由於質譜分析技術的進步,預期將有助於此一領域之發展。因此,本文擬就質譜在植物防禦素研究上之應用做一簡介。

Phytoalexins are induced defensive chemicals in plants in response to a number of biotic and abiotic factors such as microbes invading and UV irradiation. The function of these plant secondary metabolites is similar to that of immune system in animals. Meanwhile, they also show bioactivities such as free radical scavenging and anti- tumor effects. However, due to their low abundance and high diversity present in plants, methods for characterization and analysis of these compounds are still not well developed. In regarding of sensitivity and structural information providing, mass spectrometry is a good choice for analysis of phytoalexins. In this article, the application of MS in studying a kind of phytoalexins, polyhydroxystilbenes was discussed.
