蕨類生藥的研究與開發

The Research and Development of Natural Products from Ferns in Taiwan

摘要


生藥就是一般所熟知的天然藥物,而生藥學是以植物分類學,天然物化學等為基礎,包含藥物開發過程,藥理、製劑等知識,合而為一的藥物科學。由於現代分離技術與其他生化科學與天然藥物研究的應用結合,使得自傳統藥用動、植物中開發新藥的研究成為各國尋找治療現代疾病的重要方向。蕨類生藥不論在世界傳統醫學或是民間用藥上都具有廣泛的應用價值。台灣位處亞熱帶與熱帶地區的交界,受太平洋板塊與菲律賓板塊擠壓形成三萬六千餘平方公里的島嶼,特殊的地理位置、地質歷史、氣候、洋流等多變化的環境,造就蕨類植物適合生長的多樣化棲息空間。豐富的蕨類生物資源,亦使台灣獲得「蕨類王國」的雅號。本篇文章中,我們整理台灣一些常用蕨類生藥的傳統用途、所含之活性成分、獨特生物活性等等,並且介紹近年來台灣天然物學家在蕨類植物研究與開發的進展,期望為我國蕨類生藥未來的開發與應用做出一些貢獻。

Crude drug is the drugs from nature. Pharmacognosy is the study of crude drugs based on the plant taxonomy and natural products chemistry, which includes the knowledge about the process of drug development, pharmacology and pharmaceuticals. Due to the application of modern isolation techniques and extension application of biochemistry, it becomes more important to search new entities from traditional herbs or folk medicine as new drugs to treat human disease. Ferns were one of the important medicinal resources in many ethnopharmacy. Taiwan was formed from the collision between the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Plate. The geographic setting of Taiwan, between the West Pacific Ocean and East China Sea and at the crossroads of the Philippine-Japan I. Arc, has produced special biogeographical interest and the advantage of versatile biodiversity. These special geological environments make the biodiversity of ferns, which also make Taiwan as "Kingdom of Ferns". Herein, we will review the ferns used as Taiwanese folk medicine about their bioactive constituents and the mechanism of actions of these compounds, some of which could be regarded as lead compounds for drug discovery in the future.
