Gelatin, which is derived from collagen, is a commonly used natural polymer for biomedical application. The isoelectric point of gelatin can be modified during the fabrication process to make either a negatively or positively charged gelatin nanocarrier. Various forms of gelatin nanocarrier can be fabricated by desolvation method for controlled release studies. Studies have been performed that gelatin nanocarriers are able to encapsulate drug/DNA or chemical reaction with ligand for specific targeting delivery. This review will emphasize how gelatin nanoparticle were fabricated and the application of EGFR targeted gelatin nanoparticles for chemodrug delivery.
