Teacher-student interaction is an important issue in English teaching. However, an overview of literature related to this topic found few studies that focused on students at technology universities. Therefore, a need was perceived to construct a scale to investigate teacher-student interaction in English classrooms at technology universities. The scale in this study was developed by the following procedures. First, the researchers developed a scale based on the literature and previous studies, such as Flanders (1970) and Moore (1989). Then, experts in this field helped to review the contents. After pilot studies, the reliability and validity of the scale were analyzed. As a result, "The Scale of Teacher-student Interaction in English Classrooms at Technology Universities" was developed. The 11 items on the scale are divided into two categories: teacher-student interaction, and peer interaction. It is hoped that this scale, which was found to have good reliability and validity, will be a useful tool for future studies in this field, and will help to enhance teachers' understanding of the importance of interaction, along with their skills in employing more effective teacher-student interaction.
