The study investigated the dietary habits relevant to hemodialysis patients. 20 hemodialysis patients from Kung-Tein General Hospital Hemodialysis Center were studied. All subjects were interviewed by a constructed questionnaire, which was tested for reliability and validity. The study included a survey to investigate basic information, eating habits, and frequency of eating. The results of this study were as follow: By means of the food frequency questionnaire, the hemodialysis patients intook more than milks, yolks, Oat flour, and Scallop in high phosphate foods. The hemodialysis more intook than MSG, butter, salad , and tomato sauce in high sodium foods, and more intook than Bamboo shoot , carotene, Mung bean sprouts Water convolvulus and others vegetables in high potassium foods, These data suggest that information relevant to hemodialysis patients is best provided by food selestion, and addition nutritional education.
