According to the University Act regulations, universities must evaluate teachers’ teaching so as to provide a reference for reward, temporary termination of contract, or discontinuation of contract. Given this, fundamental questions about the systems of teaching evaluation’s appropriateness and feasibility are issues worth investigating. The researcher examined a sample school’s teaching evaluation system, exploring the teaching evaluation’s items, indicators, and scores. In order to align research results with the needs of school and teacher development, as well as including a rational and feasible base, the researcher referenced relevant literature and interviewed the director of the unit in charge of teaching evaluations. Teachers inside the school were also asked for opinions. Finally, the researcher suggests directions for improvement of the school’s evaluation system, proposing two different types of evaluation approaches. Results can form the basis of improving this school’s teaching evaluation system and provide a reference to departments and colleges of other universities.
