以超音波量測機車碟煞來令片之接觸面積之研究

The Contact Area Measurement of Brake Pads by Using Ultrasonic Method

摘要


本研究使用超音波檢測機車煞車來令片與鋼板之間的接觸面積,並且比較在不同負載下,全新來令片與已磨耗來令片的面積變化。此實驗使用LABVIEW軟體控制伺服馬達與驅動螺桿,調整超音波感測器在X-Y平臺上移動,以每步0.1 mm掃描接觸區域並將所得到的數據去利用MATLAB軟體以矩陣方式轉換成接觸面積的漸層圖像,再經由影像分析軟體(PIA)依照不同負載與接觸率計算其接觸面積。經由分析後,全新來令片接觸面積介於628.79 mm^2到1,598.95 mm^2之間,而已磨耗來令片接觸面積介於52.37 mm^2到592.29 mm^2之間,由實驗結果可得知負載愈大接觸面積愈大,亦可知已磨耗過來令片之接觸面積比全新來令片來的小,並藉由量測接觸面積之大小做出數據評估,推算來令片磨耗之程度,可對於來令片更換里程做出適當的決定,以利於更換來令片作業時有更好的工作效率。

In this study the method for wear diagnosis is to measure the contact area of a used brake pad for motorcycles and compare it with a brand new item by ultrasonic scanning. An ultrasonic instrumentation system was used to perform the contact area measurement. This experiment used LABVIEW program to control servo motor and drive screw so that the ultrasonic sensor can travel around in the XY table. The ultrasonic probe moved with 0.1 mm per step and scanned over the probable contact region. The collected ultrasonic signal was converted into a two-dimensional matrix, processed by the MATLAB software, and displayed the 2D images of contact region. A software package, PIA system, was used to calculate the area size in accordance with the different loads and contrast ratio. Theoretically, the size of the contact image is increasing from no contact to fully contact when the force is increasingly applied. The signal values of reflected amplitude data can reveal the formation process of the image shape, depending on whether the contact is light or heavy. The contact area of the new brake pad ranges from 628.79 mm^2 to 1,598.95 mm2, and the area of the wear pad varies between 52.37 mm^2 and 592.29 mm^2, according to the experimental results. The greater the applied loads, the greater the contact area size.
