The purpose of this paper is to explore the support networks and recidivism effects of male drug addicts in Taiwan. In a quantitative study, the subjects were intentionally sampled from a male narcotics recidivist arbitrator in a southern prison, and used a further factor and support scale with 500 valid samples. The study found that the majority of male drug addiction re-offenders were single, junior and senior, 20 to 29-year-old youth who used drugs for the first time, and economic instability. Most of them had detoxification experience but did not quit, while family and social support networks were weak. There is a significant negative correlation between the support network and the recidivism factor. The better the support network is, the lower the recidivism rate is. Research results, the status of recidivism among male drug addicts is affected by personal characteristics and support networks. Strengthening the individual's positive functions and family and social support networks will help improve the recidivism of male drug addicts. It is suggested that the individuals, families and social support networks for the re-offenders of male drug addicts should be strengthened to reduce the occurrence of recidivism by drug addicts after their release and provide relevant practical advice.
