Development of E-counseling tools for college students who use drugs

In recent years, a variety of illicit drugs with different types and forms aroused the curiosity of students to use drugs. New psychoactive substances has penetrated into the campus. In the digital age, traditional approaches of counseling for students with substance abuse are outdated that may not meet the needs of students and counselors. The digital media counseling mode is more convenient than the traditional counseling method, and can also allow counselors to provide and obtain relevant counseling information at any time. In the study, the combination of the functions of the social software LINE@ and counseling materials for drug abuse students was developed and provided to school counselors as one of the counseling tools. We invited counselors from colleges and universities to use LINE@ for drug abuse prevention education and join the LINE counseling group. Any counseling questions can be raised in the group, and experts and scholars will give feedback. Finally, a total of 16 counselors participated in the study. The results showed that 69% of the counselors believed that the drug abuse prevention materials could arouse the students' attention and concern for rejecting illegal drugs, and 62% of the counselors believed that it could increase the number of students in the class. With regard to knowledge about refusing illegal drugs, 69% of counselors believe that it is important to make students aware of illegal drug use as a serious health problem, and 75% of counselors believe that it is important to make students believe that refusing illegal drugs. In the conclusion, all counselors were satisfied with the tool. Counselors also believe that the addition of this set of E-based counseling tools is helpful in counseling. In this new generation of technology, digital E-based counseling tools are combined with drug abuse student counseling materials and related anti-drug information., and drug abuse students have its benefits, so it is recommended that it be more widely used.
