Han Fei, who comprehensively synthesized the ideas of his predecessors, has received as much reputation as denigration when it comes to his contributions to the history of political thought. However, the book Han Feizi, which is the collective work of the Legalist school, wasn't written by one single author. Therefore, this thesis will analyze the argumentation of the texts and the characteristics of the chapters; focus on the values and political views, and respond to the evaluations made by academic predecessors. "If one uses history as a mirror, one will identify the principles of the rise and fall of a society." One will be able to know oneself as well as the enemy and dispose of the ideas of the Legalist school effectively, regardless of whether one effectively assimilates or powerfully criticizes them, only if one truthfully understands the ideas of the Han Feizi.
