Judgment Without The Law in Romans 2:12-16

摘要

Whether the Gentiles will be justified in the final judgement by doing the natural law in Romans 2:12-16 has found no consensus since the Church Fathers. The purpose of this paper is to examine that the Gentiles, who do the Law demands without knowing the Mosai Law, will not be justified in the eschatological judgment, even though they do the requirements of the Law as Romans 2:13b indicated. The paper will begin with a survey of the history of interpretation from the Church Fathers to the present time, and it will introduce the broader context of Rom 2:12-16. Then, the paper will probe the relationship between the Law and the Gentiles, clarify the identity of the Gentiles, and finally examine the judgment of the Gentiles without the Law.
