電影與族群文化接觸的詮釋議題-以《賽德克.巴萊》為例

摘要


與其說是偶然的機會、倒不如說是在因緣際會之下,使得筆者有隨拍電影《賽德克‧巴萊》的機緣,除了翻譯劇本賽德克語(以下簡稱本族語)對白之外,還擔任該片本族語對白的現場指導員及歷史文化總顧問。魏德聖導演於2003 年籌拍《賽德克‧巴萊》的〈五分鐘試拍片〉時,即透過嫁到臺北的表妹張淑珍小姐、輾轉請我將其對白譯成本族語;雖然直到《賽德克‧巴萊》開拍之前從未曾與導演(魏德聖)謀面,但也因而與導演結下「神交」之緣。隨拍電影《賽德克‧巴萊》期間,我看到導演及劇組人員的努力,也看到了他們對我原住民族歷史文化的有限認知及「自我解讀」;就在隨拍的第一個拍攝期程─「於桃園復興鄉小烏來拍攝九天」之後即下定決心要寫書,就個人所知與觀影者分享、探討「霧社事件」的歷史議題及賽德克族(以下簡稱本族)的文化。在相繼出版了兩本與本族歷史文化相關的拙著之後,仍心繫著「當電影與我原住民文化交會、激盪時我們能做些什麼」?

Incidentally, the author had an opportunity to participate in the movie of Seediq Bale. In addition to the translation of the script, the author served as the film's on-site instructor and the General Counsel of history and culture. When the director, Te-sheng Wei, filmed the five minutes video of Seediq Bale in 2003, he invited me to translate Chinese to Seediq language through his cousin. During the filming of Seediq Bale, the author realized the efforts of the director and the staff, but also thought they had limited awareness and self-interpretation for indigenous history and culture. Thus, the author determined to write books, explored the Wushe Uprising and history and culture of Seediq. After published two historical and cultural books of Seediq, the author is still concerned with "while the movie rendezvous with indigenous culture, what we can do?"
