A Study of Influence on Hualien-Yilan Indigenous Farmers' Intention to Adopt Organic Farming

The study takes indigenous farming, organically or inorganically, in the Hualien-Yilan region as the subject to know factors affecting the adoption of organic farming and to compare their difference from various cultivation patterns. The findings of the study: Hualien-Yilan indigenous farmers who adopt organic cultivation and those who adopt conventional cultivation show difference in influential factors for adopting organic farming. Besides, there is difference in adopting organic farming against different demographics and attributes of agricultural management. To increase inclination of Hualien-Yilan indigenous farmers to adopt organic farming, the study also suggests that competent authorities draw up guidance measure and subsidy plan as well as value agricultural management concerned by the Indigenous Peoples.
