球類運動用語之中日對照研究
Ball Sport Vocabularies in Chinese and Japanese｜球技運動用語の中日対照研究

This study discusses the Chinese and Japanese vocabularies of eight different ball sports which are included in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The words were picked up from textbooks of physical education of junior and senior high schools in Taiwan. The results reveal that there are plenty of loan words from English in Japanese ball sport words, while Chinese and Japanese vocabularies of baseball and softball share more identical Chinese words compared to other ball sports. The word ＂ball＂ is not translated in Chinese to Japanese translation; besides, there are polysemous words in Japanese vocabulary. The study provides a translation of Chinese and Japanese ball sport vocabularies for physical education majors, and it also provides information for Chineses and Japaneses who are interested in sports in different cultures.｜本研究では、台湾の中学高校の体育教材から2020年の東京オリンピックに含まれる球技種目8つの重要用語を選択し、中国語と日本語の観点からそれぞれの球技種目の重要用語について論じてみた。その結果、日本の球技種目の重要用語には外来語が多く含まれていることが分かった。そのような中で野球やソフトボールの用語には比較的多くの漢字語が使われており、日中同形同義語もあった。しかし中には、中国語では「〜球」と表現されているのに日本語に翻訳すると「〜ボール」の形をとらない用語も多く存在した。また、中国語日本語の両方とも、違う競技種目に同じ用語が使用されていることが多いが、そのような用語の中にはスポーツによって違う意味として使用されていることがあった。本研究は、体育学科の学生に、専門とする競技にかかわる中国語もしくは日本語の学習教材を提供したり、日本と台湾のスポーツ愛好者同士が、相手国の競技用語を身に付けることにより国や言語の壁を越えてスポーツに関する情報を交換し、国際交流のきっかけを作ったりすることを視野に入れている。
