摘要

Previous distribution records of Rana taipehensis in Taiwan were largely confined to the northern part of this island. The discovery of a population in the south (Fawan, Pintung County) suggests that this species was once distributed throughout the lowlands of Taiwan. The current fragmented distribution of R. taipehensis may be attributed to human activities. Its conservation deserves prompt attention.

以往有關臺北赤蛙在臺灣的分佈紀錄僅限於北部地區。最近在南部屏東縣筏灣新發現一個族群，表示臺北赤蛙曾經廣泛分佈於臺灣低原地帶，或許因為人類活動導致生態環境破壞而造成目前的零碎分佈，其保育問題值得重視。
