This study investigated the stress experienced by elder caregivers, how older caregivers cope with and adapt to such stress, and elder caregivers' learning needs when their situations or roles change. In addition, this study also investigated whether the supportive services for family caregivers effectively reduce caregiver stress. The findings of this study may provide reference for the promotion of innovative services that aim to improve older caregivers' quality of life, physical and mental conditions, and sense of wellbeing. This study used a qualitative approach, which involved interviewing 6 elder family caregivers. The results indicated that those elder caregivers who had a positive outlook, proactively resolved problems, and paid attention to their own wellbeing had favorable stress coping strategies. Furthermore, it found the elder caregivers' learning needs were diverse and comprised three dimensions: knowledge on disease progression and care techniques; use of external resources, including long-term care, social welfare, and adult education; and self-growth and stress relief. Finally, the following suggestions are offered based on research results: (1) Elder caregiver learning centers that integrate family caregiver care stations should be established to provide systematized courses, care information, and practical care techniques. (2) Practical care technique courses that provide scenario-based learning experiences and self-growth opportunities should be established to help elder caregivers enhance their resilience and adaptability. (3) The government's endeavor to provide elder caregivers care information should start from the communities and the improvement of case management.
