Eckhart was one of the most important mystics in the Middle Ages, and he was condemned by Pope John XXII as heretical and dangerous in 1329, but his influence on the later generation s has never stopped. In this article, the author has focused on the following aspects: his biography, the issue of heresy, his theological works both in Latin and German, his mystical theological thought (especially his doctrines of God and the soul), and his influence on the later generations.
