Liu's masterpiece to Classical Greek has three volumes. All discussions of the entire series on the learning of the Greek language may be found in volume I and the Appendix volume. The author claims to take a philological approach instead of a modem linguistic approach, accordingly he tries to blend the learning of classical Greek language into the introduction to Greek classics (such as culture, philosophy and literature). The review focuses mainly on the teaching materials, and accordingly focuses on three aspects: ＂adequacy and accuracy of the content＂, ＂the arrangement of the content＂, and ＂principle on learning (Greek) language＂. In particular, on the last aspect, the reviewer alerts the danger of philosophizing the Greek language (by the author), and reminds us once again of James Barr's warning against the danger on theologizing the Greek language.
