Dietrich Bonhoeffer's ethics is essentially a theological construction. To him, theology is not simply the knowledge on Jesus Christ, not simply the doctrine of Christology, but the practice of Christian life. Bonhoeffer elaborates that Jesus Christ through his life make the whole world into himself and transforms the world. So the Church should be open to the whole world too. Because the world belongs to Jesus Christ, and only when the world is in Christ, the world becomes the World and vice versa. The Church through Jesus Christ opens to the world and becomes Stellvertretung of the the world.
