Comparative literature and religious studies seem to belong to different disciplines, but they are engaged more and more in dialogue. When contemporary Chinese religious scholars propose ＂perspectives and methodologies in comparative research＂, they are perhaps unaware that the foundation of religious studies lies precisely in an awareness of the ＂comparative＂ and in the spirit of ＂dialogue＂. The reverse from single narrative to ＂in-between＂ logic can be regarded as the most significant inspiration that comparative literature and religious studies can contribute to humanities.
