Commissioning of Pencil Beam Line Scanning Proton System with Multi-Leaf Collimator

多葉式準直儀應用於筆尖型掃描式質子射束之接收測試

摘要


Our facility is the first line scanning proton therapy system combined with multi-leaf collimator (MLC) using the commercially available system to calculate the dose distribution in Taiwan. It's important to make sure if MLC is suitable for our patient treatment. The penumbra reduction with MLC and the dose verification of our treatment planning system (TPS) were evaluated in our study. The effective penumbra reduction with MLC was investigated in square field and AAPM Task Group 119 treatment plan. For dose verification, the TPS calculated dose was compared with measurement dose, the absolute point dose measurements agreed within 2% difference and the 3mm/3% gamma passing rate of dose distributions was higher than 99%. The MLC would be used for clinical usage in our department.

本院為台灣第一家使用筆尖型掃描式質子射束搭配多葉式準直儀並利用商用治療計劃系統進行質子治療計畫劑量計算之質子中心,其使用於臨床治療之適當性須妥善評估,本研究將評估使用多葉式準直儀對質子照野半影區之減少程度並針對治療計劃系統進行劑量驗證;不論在方形照野或美國醫學物理協會在其第119號報告中所提供之複雜治療計劃模型,評估結果顯示多葉式準直儀能有效降低半影區,在劑量驗證方面,商用治療計劃系統所計算出之劑量與實際量測結果相比較,點劑量之劑量相差程度皆小於2%,使用3mm/3%之加馬參數法(gamma passing rate)評估面劑量,其通過率皆大於99%,經本研究評估,多葉式準直儀能夠用於本院質子治療之臨床用途。
