中国近代社会变革与北美华人华侨社区的历史考察—《圣路易斯•奥比斯波黄安家族档案》研究

本文通过对《圣路易斯．奥比斯波黄安家族档案》的初步研究，展示19世纪末20世纪初（尤其是修筑太平洋铁路时期）北美华人华侨社区的真实状况，及其与近代北美主流社会、中国本土社会的历史转承关系。文章着重介绍了黄安这一中国近代早期移民北美的具有代表性的华人华侨，剖析了当时北美华人华侨社区的少数族裔亚社会性质。文章通过发生在黄安家族内部的一起刑事凶杀案，探讨了中国传统文化在北美主流社会的文化冲突。文章进而分析了近代北美华人华侨与中国近代本土社会的联系，具体展示了北美华人华侨对中国近代社会的变革的支持和投入。文章最后认为历史将永远记住这些为社会发展、社会进步作出重大贡献的平凡的人们，包括以黄安为代表的老一代华人华侨和修筑太平洋铁路的华工们。

Through an initial study on the Ah Louis Family Archives, San Luis Obispo, California, this paper is to unveil the real social condition of the Chinese - American community from the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century, especially during the construction of the Pacific Railroad, and its historical interactive relations with the mainstream North American society and homeland Chinese society. The article introduces Ah Louis and his family, as a model of early Chinese immigrants to North America, and discovers the characteristic of Chinese - American community as a minority sub - society at the period. Citing a criminal homicide case occurred inside the Louis family, the paper explores the conflicts of traditional Chinese culture in the mainstream North American society. The paper further analyzes the connection of Chinese - American community with the homeland modern Chinese society, and specifically shows the support and commitment of the Chinese - American community to the Chinese democratic revolution. The paper concludes that history will forever remember these ordinary people who made significant contributions to social development and social progress, including Ah Louis and his generation of the Chinese - American pioneers, as well as the Chinese laborers of the Pacific Railroad.
