Traveling, as a rite that the adult explores her / his life and achieves the self-growth, is full of attraction for women. And for children, who cannot travel freely in a reality under the protection and supervision of adults, the creation of a fantastic world in children's literature and the "traveling-searching" model "home / away / home" provide them the experience in their personal initiation and development. The seeds of the desire to travel, for girls particularly, have already been sown and grown in the mind of the girls such as Alice, Dorothy and Wendy, and so on. The author has applied the viewpoints of travel and travel literature to this thesis. From the Western children's literature, the author has selected several travels carried out by girl protagonists and having both characteristics of "canons" and "modern fantasy" as a basis of this study. This study aims to write down an account of these girls' trips, and to examine the enrichment of their self-growth through a ritual of traveling where these girls experienced the differences between the inside and the outside, the self and the other.
