孟郊五古的節律與語言特徵

The metrics and linguistic features of Meng Jiao's Five-Character poems

摘要


本文關注孟郊五古的苦吟詩風,和節律特徵、語言特徵之間的關係。透過歷來研究者較少留心的句式、節律點、慣用字眼、對照詞組等角度分析,結合詩歌意象與情意層面的表現,試圖更全面的闡釋孟詩「苦吟」的內蘊。本文首先從「復古」句式的直觀感受談起,探討孟詩對漢魏詩歌句構、用字的追隨,以及對仁義的推崇。其次,談孟郊詩韻亦古亦今的「新變」面象,並輔以清奇僻苦詩風,說明孟詩逐漸偏離雅正的格局,走向苦吟的過程。再次,針對詩味僻苦的特點,從富有拉鋸的詞組對照、句聯張力分析,提供思考苦吟詩風「刻苦不歡」的新角度。最後,本文聚焦在「反常」的詩歌情結,語言上運用反襯、反詰的技巧,並配合病痛反常的身體感受,闡釋孟詩奇險的意象與情意。

The article focuses on the relationship between metrics and linguistic features in the hardship-chanting style of Meng Jiao's "wugu"(孟郊五言古詩). It combines the analysis of the sentence patterns, rhythm point, and idiomatic expressions of Meng's poetry, which were often overlooked by researchers, with the poetic imagery and thematic implications in his poetry, to offer an interpretation of the meanings implied in Meng's hardship-chanting poetry. To begin with, this paper examines the appearance of the Confucian ethos of "returning to old ways" in Meng Jiao's poems by discussing the sentence structures and characters from Han and Wei dynasty poetry seen in Meng's works, as well as his expressed reverence for benevolence and righteousness. The second section discusses Meng's "innovation,'' explaining how his poetry style simultaneously encompassed classical and novel features. It also examines the process by which a uniquely refreshing and sparse style gradually replaced the classical structure of Meng's poetry, ultimately leading him to hardship-chanting. Thirdly, in the section of "poetic tension," I compare Meng's phrases and couplets in order to provide a new angle of analyzing the hardship-chanting style. Finally, this paper elucidates Meng's "against the grain" poetic orientation. By employing linguistic contrasts and rhetorical questions, Meng Jiao displayed a capacity for strange and surreal imaginings while writing about painful and abnormal physical sensations.
