摘要
工具機產業不斷利用硬體及軟體創新或排列組合的方式朝自動化、智慧化以及加工效能提升的大方向在前進。工具機產業除了藉由機構設計的最佳化、更精密的零組件之硬體組裝外，還可以藉由軟體如電腦輔助模擬設計與加工、誤差補償、監控加工參數等提升工具機的精度和可靠度，更可以透過物聯網(internet of things, IoT)和資訊及通訊科技(information and communication technology, ICT)等通訊系統和機械手臂來實現自動生產及生產流程可視化和方便管理的目標。在應用產業的部分來說，近年有更多廠商將航太及醫療列入未來的重點發展項目。

Machine tools industry has evolved significantly over the years, with developments in both hardware and related software applications. It is moving toward automation, intelligence and higher process efficiency. In addition to the optimizing design of the machine tools, sophisticated components assembling, CAD/CAM simulation, displacement compensation and parameters monitoring were adopted to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the machine. Machine tools can also be integrated with the IoT (Internet of Things), ICT (Information and Communication Technology), communication systems and robots to achieve automatic manufacturing and process visualization. Thus, the management of shop floor can be facilitated as well. For industrial applications, more and more machine tools manufacturers target aerospace and medical for growth.
