The preparations for machine tool machining process are labor-intensive; including tool setting, machine tuning, NC programs planning, and products quality verification, need someone with experience or skill to deal with those procedures. Human error is inevitable; the only man who makes no mistake is one who never does anything. Hence, to make the preparations easier is necessary. The intelligent control technology is composed of many intelligent application modules. The preliminary work will be replaced by this technology to reduce human errors, increase machining quality, improve reliability of machine tools, achieve the value-added intelligent high-end controllers and enhance the competitiveness of the industry. This article will describe and introduce the intelligent multi-axis control technology for high-end machine tools.
