To keep up with progress of the times, to meet increase of user needs and to solve the issue of energy shortage, examples such as light weight requirement for sports equipment, improvement of wind power generation efficiency of wind blades, energy-saving requirement for transportation vehicles, etc., have caused the use of composite material structural parts toward large-scale and light-weight trends. In the early days, the quality inspection of carbon fiber composite materials was often performed manually by naked eye vision, which not only took a lot of time, but also caused human errors. Therefore, the use of non-destructive inspection technology can greatly improve the production capacity. This article will be focused on the introduction of optical inspection technology for composite materials.
