Deploying a Mobile-to-Mobile Content Service Platform

摘要


行動裝置及行動網路技術的快速發展,讓我們可以在任何時間、任何地點分享內容。行動內容的分享,可以使用主從式架構或Device-to-Device (D2D)架構。主從式架構的內容分享方式需要把內容上傳到Server。當使用者要求Server刪除內容時,無法確定Server是否真的完全刪除內容。因此,限制使用者對內容的實際管理。至於,D2D架構的內容分享方式,限制使用者必須在點對點無線傳輸的範圍內,才可分享內容,使內容的分享變得不方便。因此,我們結合主從式架構與D2D架構的特點,設計並發展Mobile-to-Mobile (M2M)內容服務平台,稱為Mobile Content as a Service (MCaaS)系統。MCaaS系統讓使用者自行管理分享的內容以確保分享內容的隱私性。而且,更重要的是,MCaaS系統不限制使用者使用MCaaS內容分享服務的範圍。當內容擁有者發佈內容分享資訊時,分享的內容並不會上傳到Server,而是存放在內容擁有者。使用者會從MCaaS Server收到內容分享的更新(Renew)資訊。對內容有興趣的使用者可以透過Wi-Fi或3G/LTE與內容擁有者建立M2M連線以取得分享的內容。如此,內容的分享就不會受到無線傳輸距離的限制,同時也能確保分享內容的隱私,提供更方便安全的內容分享服務。

The rapid development of mobile devices and the network technologies allows us to share information at any time, from anywhere. The network-information-sharing can be divided into client-server model and device-to-device (D2D) architecture. In client-server model, clients need to upload their information to the server in order to share with other users. Nevertheless, while users ask the server to delete certain content, it is difficult for them to know if the content is completely deleted or otherwise. Therefore, the client-server model doesn’t provide users with actual and direct information management. As for D2D architecture, it allows users to share content only in the D2D wireless transmission range. It makes content sharing more impractical, and thus brings the inconvenience. Hence, we integrate the characteristics of client-server architecture and D2D architecture to design and develop a Mobile-to-Mobile (M2M) content service platform, called Mobile Content as a Service (MCaaS) system. The MCaaS system allows users to be in charge of their shared content and protects the privacy of such content. Furthermore, and most importantly, the MCaaS system doesn't constrain users from sharing content even when they are not within D2D wireless transmission range. When content owners share their content, instead of uploading it to the server, they save it in their own space. The users then receive the updated sharing information from the MCaaS server. The users who are interested in such information can set up an M2M connection with content owners by means of Wi-Fi, 3G or LTE in order to acquire the shared content. In this way, content sharing will not be constrained by the D2D wireless transmission distance, and its privacy can be firmly secured. Eventually, it provides a more convenient and secured content sharing service.
