In the study of Chinese medieval history, I have found many omissions and errors in the standard histories, which result from mistakes in engraving. Now, I list sixty items of such omissions and errors from Shih-chi to Sui-shu for the reference of textual critics of history. As I am not a professional textual critic of ancient historical texts, these findings are only the by-products of my historical research. In this way, the methodology I have adopted is chiefly the comparison and collation between historical events, and that is slightly different from the common textual criticism.
