In recent years a total of 802 official seals has been excavated from Fu-fêng扶風 in Shensi陝西 and Mêng-ching孟津 in Honan It is an unprecedented discovery of great importance in the history of sigillography. Basing himself historical records, the author of this article examines these two groups of official seals and comes to the conclusion that these seals were the products of Wei of the Three Kingdoms period 三國曹魏. The short period to which these seals belong is of great significance to the study of periodization of seals. The characteristics of these two groups of seals can be used as criteria for determining the date of official seals previously discovered of similar style.
