中國大陸近年在舊石器時代考古學上的一些發現

Recent Discoveries in Paleolithic Archaeology in China

並列摘要

In Paleoanthropology and Paleolithic Archaeology in China there have been recent discoveries of human fossils at Chin Niu Shan (Liao Ning province), Hê Hsien (An Hui province), Ch'i Chih Shan (Shan Tung province), the Hominidae fossils at Yüan Mou basin (Yün Nan province), paleolithic relics from Tung Ku T'o (Hê Pei province), and Hsiao Ku Shan (Liao Ning province). There are different opinions on these discoveries, especially on the fossils from Chin Niu Shan and Yüan Mou. Some people think that the fossils from Chin Niu Shan belong to late Homo erectus. Others believe that the fossils represent early Homo sapience. The Hominidae fossils from Yüan Mou are of Pliocene, and include three kinds of fossil apes at least. According to the primary report, the specimens from the upper Pliocene are of Homo orientalis, and the specimens from the lower Pliocene of Ramapithecus hudiensis. However, this identification is rejected by most anthropologists in China. The Yüan Mou fossils are sure to be hotly debated.
