We are delighted to announce that Communication and Society has been accepted as an affiliate journal of International Communication Association (ICA). Launched in December 2006, the journal serves the rapidly expanding research community in Greater China and other parts of the world. Our mission is to provide a platform for advancing Chinese communication research and publishing state-of-the-art research articles. The journal will continue its steady growth by emphasizing theory and diverse perspectives and by ensuring fairness in reviewing manuscripts. The current issue features six research articles that examine news coverage, media audience and journalistic practice. For the academic dialogue, we invited Professor David H. Weaver to share with us his experiences and insights on journalist and journalism research. He believes that among the more productive directions in journalism research are studies of agenda setting dynamics, especially between newer social media and more traditional news outlets.
