A Parathyroid Cyst Coexistent with Graves' Disease: A Case Report

摘要

Parathyroid cysts are an uncommon disease entity and may be confused with thyroid cysts. The great majority of parathyroid cysts are non-functioning ones and usually present without symptoms. We report a rare case of a 50-year-old woman presenting to our department with Graves' disease and a non-functioning parathyroid cyst. The parathyroid cyst did not recur 1 year after needle aspiration. Differential diagnosis of a cystic neck mass should include a parathyroid cyst, even if an evident thyroid condition is present. Aspiration of a non-functioning parathyroid cyst and regular follow-up could be the treatment of choice.
