禪是什麼？星雲大師的觀點－以「禪是人間佛教」為中心
What is Chan? Venerable Master Hsing Yun's View - Using ＂Chan is Humanistic Buddhism＂ as Central Reference
摘要
此文通過梳理星雲大師對於禪的詮釋，將其表詮部分的內容加以分析，來說明大師關於「禪是什麼」這一主題的觀點，文章分為三個層面：第一，盡量全面地描述大師對於禪是什麼的觀點，呈現出這一解答的無限性；第二，突出其禪是人間佛教的根本這一觀點，是為大師對這一主題的最為重要的觀點之一；第三，從禪是生活這一層面具體化禪是人間佛教的觀點，進一步說明禪是什麼樣的生活，是以平常心為指導的生活，是真實的生活，是導向善的生活，是美的生活。由此三個層面的描述，此文的結論是：星雲大師的禪觀，是創造性的，也是禪教融和、禪淨融和、三教融和的，體現了其佛教觀中，面向當下的包容性和面向未來的前瞻性。

This paper explores Venerable Master Hsing Yun's views on the meaning of Chan by examining his answers to the important question: what is Chan? This paper has three parts. First, the paper describes Venerable Master Hsing Yun's expression of Chan, showing a multitude of answers to this issue. The second part focuses on Venerable Master Hsing Yun's main viewpoints on Chan's meaning: Chan is the essence of Humanistic Buddhism. Thirdly, it describes in more depth Venerable Master Hsing Yun's view of Chan and Humanistic Buddhism: Chan, essentially, is the true, good, and beautiful life. This paper concludes that Venerable Master Hsing Yun has expressed creative views about Chan, fusing Chan and Pure Land with an emphasis on tolerance.
