A new subspecies of flea Stivalius Jordan et Rothschild, 1922 s. str. is described and illustrated from Taiwan. S. aporus yenpinensis n. ssp. is closely related to S. aporus rectodigitus (Li et Wang, 1958), but can be readily distinguished by the following characteristics: the triangular projection on ventro-subdistal portion of adeagus; tendons of phallosome with a row of small hair on dorsal view at base; the angular process of anterior arm and the chaetotaxy on postrior arm of St IX. In addition, the posterior margin of pygidium with 5 long and transverse bristles, slightly increasing in the thickness from dorsal to ventral. This flea which is a parasite of Bandicota nemorivaga (Hodgson) is the first record of collection from Taiwan.
