The Family Sparidae (Pisces: Perciformes) of Taiwan

摘要
The paper reports nine sparid fishes in the surrounding waters of Taiwan. They are Dentex tumifrons (Temminck and Schlegel), Evynnis cardinalis (Lacépède), Pagrus major (Temminck and Schlegel), Argyrops bleekeri Oshima, A. spinifer (Forskal), Sparus sarba Forskal, Acanthopagrus schlegeli (Bleeker), A. latus (Houttuyn) and A. berda (Forskal). A family diagnosis, key to genera and species, synonyms, materials, diagnosis and remark of each species are given.
