摘要
An attempt was made to investigate the present distribution of sphingid moths and arguing the possible cause of this distribution. And also comparing the sphingid faunas of Taiwan to the neighboring areas and try to understand the origin and zoogeography of sphingid moths of Taiwan. The sphingidae belong to the moth have differentiated in recent period. They have eminent flying power and can travel long distance, but the climate and food sources are important factors to limit the distribution. The postulated dispersal route of the sphingid moths are given, and the original sphingid faunas and the zoogeographic distribution of Taiwan are discussed.
