A new goby, Pseudogobiopsis wuhanlini sp. nov., is collected from lower drainages of both Min River, Fujian Provinces and Pearl River, Kwangton Province of south-eastern China. This new species is characterized by shorter jaw length in male and reduced cephalic canal system from other 2 congeneric species from Thailand and Indonesia. The genus, Pseudogobiopsis is the first record from the gobioid fauna of China. It is also the northmost record of this genus. The re-definition of the genus, description of the new species and discussion with related genera and species are provided.
