In his creation, William Faulkner borrows and transforms tremendous Biblical thinking tradition and literary manner of writing. He depicts his imaginative world from the Biblical story and narrative structure and makes creative transformation of the Biblical allusions and characters so as to present his literary imagination from a religious perspective. In terms of the whole tendency of his literary imagination, his employment of the Biblical tradition predominantly displayed in the following aspects: the reoccurrence of the Biblical themes, the quotation and inversion of the Biblical structure, the borrowing of the Biblical images and symbols, the creation of the Christlike heroes and the employment of the technique of irony.
