Teilhard de Chardin, S. J. (1881-1955) was an old friend to the Chinese academic world prior to 1949. Teilhard spent twenty-three years in China as a paleontologist, working with Chinese .scholars and becoming famous together with them for discovering the famous "Peking Man" in 1929. Many of his early works were written while he worked and traveled around China. The long time he spent in China played a significant role in shaping "Teilhardism" or Teilhardian Theology. This paper consists of four parts: "Our Teilhard", "Life and Works", "Science vs Religion", and "Teilhardism and Global Citizenship." It argues that the contribution of Teilhard de Chardin's academic activities should not be simply limited to the discovery of "Peking Man", but should be extended to the philosophical and theological contributions shown in his numerous important writings, such as Le Phénomène Humain and Le Milieu Divin. Teilhard de Chardin was not only a paleontologist, but also a well-known philosopher and theologian, who greatly influenced the contemporary world. His spiritual heritage, which can speak to this post-modern and global world, is worthy of recognition.
