＂The Visitation＂ is a scene from the beginning of the Gospel of Luke. It describes the meeting of two mothers, Mary and Elizabeth, who testify to the birth of Jesus Christ. The author analyzes the meaning of the Visitation around the themes of the ＂immemorable＂ and ＂touching＂ in the painting of Pontormo. The story's meaning or the painting's message is the opening of the new space to welcome the other. In the author's words, a painting does to depict an object, it goes beyond the representation and the gaze itself to portray the immemorable. She unfolds a new understanding about the presentation of the image of God through the deconstruction of Christianity.
