從西方「婦女宗教精神」運動到亞洲基督徒婦女神學的反省

From the Movement of Feminist Spirituality in the West to a Reflection on Asian Feminist Theology

並列摘要

What is Feminist Spirituality? What are the main concerns of a movement of feminist spirituality in the West? And most important, in what ways has it informed Asian feminist theology and why? Asian Christian women have been for a long time trapped in a double jeopardy of having to choose between a Western imperialistic Christianity and indigenous Asian patriarchical tradition. In order to establish their Asian identity, Christian women in Asia have followed the path of Asian theology in general and set themselves apart from the "theology of the West." However, this claim is unnecessary if one looks at the major themes and proposals of Asian feminist theology. Instead of substantive differences, one would find many similarities between the feminist theologies of the West and of Asia. The discussion on feminist spirituality is a case in point. From its early development in the States, Christian feminist spirituality has highlighted several important issues such as holistic spirituality, worship of goddesses, and the sacrality of women experiences and women's bodies. In many ways, Asian Christian women take up the same issues as the core of their theological reflection. While there are many positive and exciting theological developments grown out of these Western influences, Asian Christian women need to reflect critically on the context of where and how to adopt them. Consequently, not only the patriarchal values in goddess worship need to be scrutinized, but the identity and meaning of being Christians in Asia also call for much serious attention.
