摘要

中世纪英语道德剧与圣经之间存在着密切的渊源关系。道德剧是以圣经纪事所蕴含的信条教义和道德伦理为主旨的戏剧，圣经为道德剧提供了精神上的支撑。道德剧的死亡主题直接来源于圣经所传达的死亡观。依据圣经的思想，现存的五部早期英语道德剧通过人类旳经历直接或间接地探讨了生命的有限性、死亡的原因以及趄越死亡的永恒精神追求等等，死亡主题成为道德剧的重要标志。中世纪英语道德剧与圣经之间存在着密切的渊源关系。道德剧是以圣经纪事所蕴含的信条教义和道德伦理为主旨的戏剧，圣经为道德剧提供了精神上的支撑。道德剧的死亡主题直接来源于圣经所传达的死亡观。依据圣经的思想，现存的五部早期英语道德剧通过人类旳经历直接或间接地探讨了生命的有限性、死亡的原因以及趄越死亡的永恒精神追求等等，死亡主题成为道德剧的重要标志。

There is deep and extensive relationship between the medieval plays and the Bible. The Bible gives the spiritual support to the medieval morality plays. The morality plays' main ideas have their roots in the doctrines and ethics contained in the Chronicle of the Bible. The five existing morality plays explore the inevitability of death and how to conquer death, directly or indirectly, and their subject, death, stems from the views of death in the Bible.
