This paper investigated the viability of recovering marginalized groups in ancient Israel through the works of political scientist James C. Scott. Scott alerts us to the weapons of the weak that subordinate groups brandish daily to mitigate or resist their exploitation, and counsels us on the public and hidden transcripts at work in these power dynamics. Thus the research of my work on marginalization is accessing this hidden transcript of the subordinated in Israel through the public transcript, as it is recorded in the Hebrew Bible, decoding these skillfully deciphered resistances to understand the dynamics of power relationships, and explain relations the hidden ones bear to the public transcript.
